The engineering and performance of the Bose QuietComfort 3 Noise Cancelling Headphones set a high standard in the field of noise reduction headphones. After inventing noise cancelling headphones over 20 years ago, they strive to maintain the leadership technologies we have come to expect. The patented signal technology and the Triport headphone design bring an unparallel level of sound reproduction and blocking of the noises around you.
The QuietComfort 3 Noise Cancelling Headphones offer a soft cushioned set of ear cups, that when placed over your ears, you will feel extremely comfortable having them on. When the cancelling switch is turned on you will be able to feel alone and surrounded by great music. The sounds from airplanes and distractions at home, and work, can be gently faded into the background while you listen to your favorite audio source. With the QuietComfort 3 headphones, you’ll soon realize that you were missing many of the subtleties contained in your audio!
The smaller, lighter design, as compared to the QuietComfort 2 model, result in a slender and gentler style headphones. The headphones come in weighing a mere 5.6 ounces. This allows the ear cups to rest softly on your ears which can allow for extended wearing times. With this in mind, you can relax and immerse yourself into rich sounds of the Bose QuietComfort 3 world. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery gives up to 25 hours of non stop music. Plus, you have the option of using the Bose QuietComfort 3 mobile communications kit to listen to music on cell phones.
When purchasing products, I tend to go online to read reviews and usually target Amazon.com simply for their Owner Reviews. Of course, there are always reviews that leave some questions in my mind, but I find that after reading several, I begin to get the general feel for the product in terms of what owners think. In this case, the Owners gave the QuietComfort 3 headphones and average rating of 4 stars.
Many owners from Amazon felt the comfort level of the Bose QC 3 headphones was exceptional. Lisa explained, “…The headphones were really comfortable to "put on" - they fit on top of the ears rather than "around the ears" like the previous model. They were very light and non-intrusive. Lying sideways on a pillow didn't pose much of a problem…” You can read her full review, including how she felt she needed a great noise cancelling headphone for a long trip to the Ukraine.
Other owners noted what seemed like an increased pressure with the ear cups. EMC2 noted that, “…As reported by some fellow Amazon reviewers, ear pressure from the more pro-active noise cancelling of the QC-3 was a key concern. The signal to cancel out the noise is stronger on the QC-3 to compensate for the smaller ear cups. The salesman confirmed this…” You can read EMC2’s full review on her experiences with the QC 3 headphones here.

“L. Smith” Bought these at a Bose store because I have a heavy international travel schedule coming up. These are amazing noise reducers, shocking really, and listening to the new Wilco album on my I POD on the way home from work was just incredible. These phones delivered every nuance and cut out the train noise completely. Good for the ears and no need to crank up the volume like I do with my Bose Earbuds. Very very comfortable… Read Full Review

I Travel to Thailand 4 times per year from Honolulu Hi. The first leg of the flight is 11 hours. One of the amenities on such a long flight is each seat even in Coach Class is an inter-active Video Screen with current Movies so new that they still aren't out on D.V.D. Anyway the headphones supplied leave allot to be desired. Because the noise generated from the engines and turbulence actually affect the sound on the movie. One trip recently I looked around and noticed a few people using a unique and smart looking set of headphones that covered the entire ear. On closer inspection I noticed a brand name "Bose" so upon arrival back home, I start a search to find out more about this product... Read Full Review
